Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted over at The Broke and The Bookish
Even though there is always a risk in a favorite book being turned to a movie, sometimes it’s worth it. Movies are like the cliff notes version of books, if I don’t have time to reread a book, I can get a quick dose through the movie. So here are some books (there is major cheating going on, but you can’t just pick the first book of a series) that I wish would get turned into movies.
Enchanted Forest Series
Dealing | Searching | Calling | Talking
If you’ve been reading here at all, you’ll know I love this series. It was one of the first fantasy series I ever read. I would love to see these become movies.
The Selection Series
Supposedly this is in the market to be made into a movie, but there’s nothing on IMDB right now, so we’ll see. I’m just starting the Heir, so we’ll see if I think they should continue past the first three.
The Chronicles of Narnia (the rest of the series)
The Horse and His Boy | The Magician’s Nephew | The Last Battle
All the Pevency books have been made into movies, for good or bad, but I love these three forgotten books in the series and would love to see good versions of them come out.
Looking Glass Wars
Looking Glass War | Seeing Redd | Arch Enemy
This is a series I haven’t finished but I’m pretty sure I would love to see movies made. It’s a great reinvention of Alice in Wonderland.
The Paper Magician Trilogy
I can’t wait to get my hands on book three. I know I’m positive I’ll love the series, and think they would make great movies.
The Splintered Trilogy
Splintered | Unhinged | Ensnared
I think anyone that read these would agree they need to make movies.
Voyage of the Basset
This is such a fun book and the pictures are so rich. I would just be worried they couldn’t do justice to the world, although If they made the disc world books into movies, I think this one would stand a pretty good chance.
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series
Alchemyst | Magician | Sorceress
Necromancer | Warlock | Entrantess
Again, haven’t finished this series, but I’m pretty confident they would make a good movie.
The Testing Trilogy
Testing | Independent Study | Graduation Day
This series is fairly compared to Hunger Games, but it’s also way different, which makes me want to see it as a movie series.
Anything by Tamora Pierce
This is the first book I’ve read by Tamora Pierce, and I’ve read a good majority of her books and love them all. I would love to see some (or all) of them to become movies.
