What I remembered

Most of what I remember about the series happens in this book.  Not that I realized that before I reread the series.

Why I Chose to reread

Because stopping at book two would be criminal and possible make me punch a kitten.  And who wants that?

Thoughts (take 2)

This book gave my heart palpitations the first time I read it.  And even knowing what would happen still made my heart stop.  Celeste’s story is maybe one of my favorite secondary plots by the end, which makes it also the hardest.  I love Maxon’s care for America in this  book and wind up liking him more and more, but to the same degree, wind up disliking America for her uncertainty.  I was also yelling at Maxon and America a lot through this book, because they were both so stubborn.  Neither of them wanted to be the first for anything, and that’s dumb.  Just thinking about those scenes makes me want to rip my hair out.

Worth The Reread

In the end this is my favorite of the three.  Not because of how it ends, but the journey to get there. As frustrating as the characters are, it’s great story development.  Cass also has a great style that makes these books  easy to get into.  My only complaint on this book is I feel things got strung out a little, but also, I’m not sure what I would have cut if it had been me.

Rating

I have Hardcover love for this book and the series as a whole (so far.)  Since Cass decided to turn this into a 5 book series instead of the original 3, I’m waiting to buy a matching set.
