My husband and I keep saying Kids by Christmas, becasue we think it would be fun to have kids during the holiday and help them make good moments in a bad one.
So we had our first meeting with our caseworker. This is the person that does all our interviews and our home study so we can be licensed. There actually isn’t that much for us to do. A lot of it is rounding up more papers proving who we are and where we’ve lived, which is mostly scanned in and ready to email. The big things we have to do are:
- Fire Department Safety inspection
- Yearly check-ups with paperwork
- Daycare research
- Interviews
- Homestudy
All of this is set up to happen in the next two months, so if everything goes according to that plan, we could be licensed and ready to take placements by November.
It’s a little surreal to think that we could have kids by Christmas. I mean we’ve been saying that, but to know it’s true is another matter altogether. But we’re taking it one day at a time and seeing where God leads us. I can’t wait to see what our family looks like in the end.
